Whilst we hope this site has given you all the answers you need, there are usually some common questions that might not

fall into any of the categories. We have tried to capture them here for you, but if you need to contact the Recruitment Team,

feel free to email us at careers@mercedes-amg-hpp.com, we will be happy to help.

FAQ’s

Our undergraduate placement programmes are intended to progress into graduates, and then permanent members of the team, as such we can only accept applications from those who hold the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide visa sponsorship for our Graduate programmes. For international placements, you must hold a Tier 4 visa and your placement be compulsory to your degree, to be able to progress into future schemes.

Yes you can apply for more than one scheme with us but ensure that your education and experience is still relevant to the programmes. You will be required to submit separate applications for each job.

Please contact students@mercedes-amg-hpp.com with the adjustment you require, whether that be extra time for online psychometric tests, information needs to be presented to you differently for the assessment centre, or we just need to be aware of your needs. Our Recruitment Team are committed to supporting you to perform as best you can.

No, prior experience is not required for any of our student schemes. Whilst it is beneficial to your own knowledge and ability if you have been able to get work experience, or perhaps had a year in industry in preparation for a graduate scheme, it is not an application requirement from us.

Successful progression to our graduate schemes is wholly dependent on your performance being of a satisfactory level throughout the placement scheme, and the graduate vacancy being available in that team. We cannot guarantee that graduate progression is available for everyone based on these factors.

Our core engineering programmes offer 6-month rotations around different teams and departments relevant to the programme you are on. Some operational roles may provide more of a fluid and varied experience to other teams, as opposed to set rotations. Please check the individual job listing to understand what rotations are offered.

Unfortunately, we do not offer financial relocation support for our early career programmes. Available on our onboarding portal, should you receive an offer, is an interactive section where you can communicate with other students joining alongside you to find house sharing and roommate opportunities. As always, your Recruitment contact, or students@mercedes-amg-hpp.com can help with general relocation advice and guidance also.

Following an in-depth induction to the business, our committed Learning and Development Team will be on hand to provide you with the necessary training for your role, and personal attributes (e.g. communication). There will be social events to continue networking with other students in your cohort, and wellbeing check-ins from our HR Business Partners to ensure you have settled in ok. The wider HR Team is always available for any other needs.

THE APPLICATION PROCESS

As part of your online application, you will be required to submit your CV and Cover Letter and answer a few questions about yourself and your experience. Please note, due to the volume of applications we are unable to provide feedback at online application stage.

For our core engineering schemes only (Mechanical, Electronics, Software and Motor Control) you will be required to complete online psychometric tests. Passing this stage is based on your scores from completing the assessment. Tests not completed by the deadline will not be granted an extension or retake.

Your CV will first be reviewed by the Recruitment Team, if successful it will be passed for further critical review by the Hiring Managers of the role. Those who successfully completed the psychometric tests (where necessary) will be progressed to review. From here, the assessment centre shortlist will be decided.

The next stage is an in-person assessment centre, held onsite at our factory in Brixworth. The day will consist of a welcome presentation from HR, a group exercise, and an interview that will assess you both behaviourally and technically. You will be sent any preparation material required at this stage.

It is important to note that for our core engineering schemes (Mechanical, Electronics, Software and Motor Control), there is no group exercise. And for our Mechanical programmes, there is a first and second stage interview. The first stage will be 30 minutes via Microsoft Teams, and the second will be in-person onsite for the assessment centre.

We’ll share the outcome of the assessment centre within a few weeks of attending. If you are successful we will make a verbal offer, following up with a contract offer. You will be notified via email if you have been unsuccessful.

Before you start on your programme with us, we will provide you with all information and joining documents you require through our interactive online onboarding portal. There is a helpful chat function on there to contact help if you need it, but your HPP Recruitment contact is always available to support you when necessary.
